Canadian police identify man murdered in 2017 as Jewish Westwood native who became a neo-Nazi and a spammer, then disappeared for 20 years
The CBC reports a man found shot to death in a Yukon in 2017 has finally been identified as Davis Wolfgang Hawke, who grew up in Westwood as Andrew Britt Greenbaum, then changed his name as he moved into neo-Nazi organizing and, when that didn't work out, massive e-mail spamming - at least until AOL successfully sued him for $12.8 million for spamming its users and then threatened to dig up his parents' yard and grandparents' yard in Medfield in search of the gold and platinum he claimed to have buried there.
He then disappeared for 20 years, until his body was found in Squamish, BC, where people knew him as Jesse James - "a politically progressive, vegan climber with no hint of the racist neo-Nazi past he'd left behind."

Self-hating Jew
is a term often abused and misused to describe people who disagree with the Netanyahu regime, but it absolutely applies to this guy.

The term existed long before there was a Netanyahu regime, or even Zionism for that matter.

Much like Stephen Miller, who unfortunately has had a much bigger impact. Sometimes I think him and Jared are brothers from the same mother.
I'm going to go with the more general term

"kapo".
Yeah.
The Nazis kinda knew what they were doing with the kapo thing. Predictably, the granting of power and authority to broken and disturbed individuals who had never before tasted it resulted in some pretty vicious behavior.
C’mon!
If you pitched this as a movie people would say it’s unbelievable.

This guy sounds like he was a disaster area from adolescence onward and I suspect the broader climbing community doesn't want to claim him, but this is a wretched way to go. I hope he found some peace and perspective up on the wall before he met his end.
And his family still loved him
It's amazing all the sh*t that families sometimes endure and still love their child. I feel bad for the father.
