West Roxbury coyote anything but coy

Big coyote

Blvckmachina couldn't help but notice this big, very healthy looking coyote just casually hanging out in his backyard on Glenellen Road in West Roxbury. Once Wile E. realized he was being photographed, he slowly got up and casually sauntered away.

Enjoying the simple pleasure of a warm sunbeam, perhaps a belly full of fat rabbit, too.

He looks well-fed and happy, not some scrawny thing.

That handsome critter is a lot bigger and beefier than a typical coyote; I'm guessing some kind of coyote/wolf/dog mix.

All Eastern coyotes are actually a mix of what you named, hence why they're much larger than their Western counterparts.

I think they're getting bigger because there is no one around to disturb them as they go through our trash for things to eat. Plus there's more for them to eat as people work from home and order a lot of takeout. God help us when the bears get wind of this.

Eastern coyotes are a subspecies with more eastern wolf in the mix, and in turn coywolves are a combo in eastern North America as well.

...much more wildlife all around during this pandemic.

Or, it could be that I notice it more often since working from home.

It's all beautiful, until it bites you on the ass or eats your kidlet.
