![Hospitalization rate due to Covid-19 going up](https://universalhub.com/files/styles/main_image_-_bigger/public/images/2020/hospitalization1128.png)
Today's Massachusetts Covid-19 report shows 1,045 people in the hospital with the virus, the first time the state has reached that number since June 15.
The number remains far lower than the peak we hit in the spring - 3,892 on April 22 - but it's 260% higher than the 393 hospitalized people a month ago.

That sucks. Please don't say it was Thanksgiving. Too soon.

There was a big drop on each of those days. Pattern appears relatively smooth otherwise.
It was a change in how they counted

From a footnote on the state’s Covid dashboard: “For purposes of this reporting, “confirmed” are cases with a PCR test. Data prior to July 22, 2020 include both confirmed and suspected COVID hospitalizations, as confirmed COVID hospitalizations were not reported separately during this time.”
Data shown after that date is only confirmed hospitalizations.

Flat? Sure, in August.
But here in the present the curve looks like it’s trending up to me. But what do I know?
Also, 3,217 cases reported yesterday; not a very sustainable number to be “flat” at over the coming weeks.
This is the Gorsuch curve.

to treat churches as different from liquor stores. After all, we all have fond memories of sitting for hours in the liquor store, listening to the owner talk, and singing all the old liquor hymns with the rest of the customers, right?

We need a nationwide 3-week shutdown.
Like, don’t leave your house unless you’re having a 911-level emergency.
