Police: Two guys were busy zipping through Dorchester with loaded guns until officers pulled them over for traffic infractions

Boston Police report arresting two men and seizing two loaded guns early this morning following traffic stops in Dorchester.

Around 2:15 a.m. at Columbia Road and Brinsley Street, police report, officers pulled over a car because its rear plate was not illuminated and the car's window tint seemed darker than allowed.

Officers’ attention was drawn to the front seat passenger and the rear passenger, both of whom were exceptionally nervous and breathing heavily. All three occupants were subsequently removed from the vehicle. Inside of the vehicle, officers took note of several hollow spots including one underneath the steering wheel which yielded the recovery of five grams of a substance believed to be heroin and eight grams of a substance believed to be crack cocaine. As officers secured the drugs, they observed a Taurus G2C 9mm firearm loaded with sixteen rounds of live ammunition in the same spot.

Driver Frank Roberto, 32, of Dorchester, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm - fourth offense - unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, subsequent offense, possession of Class A drugs with intent to distribute and possession of Class B drugs with intent to distribute, police say, adding his two passengers were not charged with anything and then released.

About an hour later, at Blue Hill and Geneva avenues in Grove Hall, police report, officers turned on their blue lights to get a speeding motorist to stop, which he did at Devon Street.

Officers approached the vehicle and spoke to the operator Joseph Guzman, 22-years-old, of South Boston. The operator acknowledged he was speeding and provided officers with the means to identify him by way of his social security number. A query of the operator led officers to the discovery that his license had been suspended. The operator was removed from the vehicle and within his waistband, officers recovered a Pietro Beretta firearm loaded with seven rounds of live ammunition.

Guzman was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearrm, unlawful possession of ammunition and operating with a suspended license, police say.
