Maybe they're just happy souls who love to dance.
Nah, who are we kidding?
H/t Scooterdude for finding these two remakes of the original.

Nothing like a little cutesy
Nothing like a little cutesy propaganda from a defense contractor to kick off the new year. These things are probably already murdering children in Afghanistan.

Your 750bn defense bill at work.
Is this actually true?
Not to say that there's nothing to worry about, but are there any reliable reports of Boston Dynamics ever selling a robot to the military, let alone of said military putting it into use? I know they got DOD research money early, but according to Wikipedia DOD decided not to buy. Of course they would say that, but the company's history makes it seem an unlikely source for top-secret military technology. It was acquired by Alphabet/Google in 2013, by Softbank, a Japanese conglomerate, in 2017, and by Hyundai this year. It's rather careless of the military-industrial complex to let its secrets fall into such unreliable hands.
I heard they stopped doing
I heard they stopped doing defense contracts when they were purchased by Google. I'm not sure how the ownership changes since then have changed that, but they are both foreign companies which would probably make it less likely?
