Boston Globe, Herald circulations in steep decline
By Ron Newman on Mon, 04/27/2009 - 11:08am
Down 13.6% from a year ago on weekdays, and 11.2% on Sundays, reports Media Nation (quoting Editor & Publisher). Will the Globe now be forced to reduce the rates that it charges advertisers?
No comparable information is available for the Herald, because E&P's list includes only the top 25 circulated newspapers in the US. The Globe's report includes the Herald's numbers as well as their own, and it looks even worse for the Herald: a 17.4% drop on weekdays. Only a 9.6% drop on Sundays, but the Sunday Herald's sales are already anemic -- just 95,392 copies are sold each week.

Holy Christ, are you kidding
Holy Christ, are you kidding me? Those numbers are terrible! What's Purcell doing, using the paper as a coke front?
