Down 13.6% from a year ago on weekdays, and 11.2% on Sundays, reports Media Nation (quoting Editor & Publisher). Will the Globe now be forced to reduce the rates that it charges advertisers?
No comparable information is available for the Herald, because E&P's list includes only the top 25 circulated newspapers in the US. The [url=http://www.boston.com/business/ticker/2009/04/glob...'s report[/url] includes the Herald's numbers as well as their own, and it looks even worse for the Herald: a 17.4% drop on weekdays. Only a 9.6% drop on Sundays, but the Sunday Herald's sales are already anemic -- just 95,392 copies are sold each week.

Holy Christ, are you kidding me? Those numbers are terrible! What's Purcell doing, using the paper as a coke front?
