In Egleston Square, police came for the gunfire, stayed for the basement casino

Live Boston reports that Boston police officers responding to a report of gunfire at 3114 Washington St., near School Street in Engleston Square, around 7:15 p.m on Saturday didn't find anybody with fresh bullet holes but did find "a large illegal gaming operation in the basement" of the VIP Barbershop.

Detectives were called to the scene as well as Boston Fire and Inspectional Services for numerous code and safety violations

If you call in to report illegal casino in Boston, you will be brushed off. This must have been a disgruntled abutter who found a way for police to show up.
