Postcards for Papi

The Sox Sistahs are trying to organize a campaign to send David Ortiz postcards of support:

Get or make 10 postcards and write encouraging messages. Mail them ASAP but not after Wednesday, May 20, because they hit the road again the following Monday.

The point behind this is to show Papi that we support him and want him to do well - in spite of the negativity that might show itself through the media or jerks at the park.

volunteer at a soup kitchen, walk an old lady across the street, send a care package to a soldier, read to a child, call your grandmother, clean up a park, or any one of the other million things more important than writing a get-well-soon card to an washed-up, likely ex-steroid user...

At first I was like "this is kind of cute" but THEN I was like why should I spend time and energy trying to make someone who gets paid $12 mil a year to hit a baseball feel better?
