Reverend Eugene Rivers was right when he said "If forty bullets were fired in the Seaport District politicians would respond."When will the mayoral candidates outline their plans for school and MBTA safety when kids return to school?

This only underscores the urgency of those 2 billion dollars for the Capitol Police.

We can deal with more than one problem at a time.

And Wu wants to “defund” the police.

She, and many others, wants to stop sending police to respond to calls that don't need them, like non-violent mental health or wellness checks. This would save money and naturally lead to a lower budget. Police would still be fully funded to respond to violent incidents like this, and would in fact be in a better position to do so than they are today because officers and other resources wouldn't be tied up dealing with situations that don't need them.

If you really support "law and order" you should support focusing police resources where they're needed and most effective. It leads to better results at lower cost.

Better results at lower cost is a wonderful policy proposal.

Yeah, I agree. Tell everyone to stop being so damnably lazy and talking about “defunding”the police if that’s not what they mean.

Because despite receiving massive funding increases for decades... police couldn't stop this crime from happening, and my money's on them never solving it, either.

Yes you can.

SHE DOESN'T TAKE THE T!?! People need smelling salts and to be checked in for overnight observation to make sure they don't die of apoplexy.

Another Fallujah level shooting spree near Grove Hall? Nary a peep from the South Camberville crowd about how wrong the freefire zone is near them. It is a long tradition of the area of ignoring the insanity that is only blocks from the latest Franco-Nepali bistro which has a waiting list for reservations on Centre Street.
