By adamg on Sat, 12/18/2021 - 11:37am
Northeastern University is now reporting a breakdown of types of Covid-19 cases on its campus since Sept. 1 on its Covid-19 dashboard. The school, which has its own testing facilities, reports a total of 35 positive tests for the omicron variant, as of Dec. 14.
That's up from 14 omicron cases the day before.
The dashboard does not break down just when the cases were identified or how serious the infections were.
On Wednesday, the Boston Public Health Commission reported Boston's first three omicron cases.

I've attended a couple of hockey games at Northeastern this season(both with nearly full houses at Matthews Arena), and, as with the NHL, I assume that crowd restrictions, postponements, etc.,will start occurring.
Restrictions == zero spectators
Northeastern will ban spectators at athletic events amid concerns about the omicron variant, effective tomorrow (Sunday 12/19)
From Harvard
Started my day with email beginning "We write to inform you that for the first three weeks of January we will take steps to reduce density on campus by moving much of our learning and work remotely. Please know that we do not take this step lightly. It is prompted by the rapid rise in COVID-19 cases locally and across the country, as well as the growing presence of the highly transmissible Omicron variant. It is reinforced by the guidance of public health experts who have advised the University throughout the pandemic. As always, we make this decision with the health and safety of our community as our top priority."
