New homes going in at Jamaica Pond

Bluegill nests in Jamaica Pond

Male bluegills have been busy of late building communal nests at several locations along the Jamaica Pond shoreline, such as this collection on the southern edge of the pond, to the left of the boathouse.

Females come by and mate with several of the males, who then chase off the females and swim in circles around their individual pods, fanning the fertilized eggs with their tails until they hatch.

like it's only knee-deep. I'd say it's definitely ford-able.
