Curry College employee fired after investigation into series of anti-Semitic, racist and anti-LGBTQ scrawlings across campus

The Currier Times reports on the aftermath of an investigation into crap that kept showing up on campus earlier this year.

No Charges? No Names?
Seems like a lot of effort and money went into this investigation. Why not pursue criminal charges? Why not name the employee responsible? We wouldn't want this racist anti-Semitic individual going to another institution to victimize another community.
I am going to speculate and guess why he/she wasn't charged and/or named.....
Libel
If they name him he might sue and the university doesn’t want to risk the lawsuit.
Employers almost never release the names of people they fire for that reason, no matter how bad they screwed up.
They talk about former
They talk about former employees all the time, especially in this era of social media. “John Doe’s actions do not represent our community and is no longer an employee” or whatever.
Only once the name has already been released
If the guy was charged by the police and/or his name was disclosed by an indictment, they would be say the above line.
But when the person isn't being charged with a crime no employer is going to make a public announcement. It opens them up to charges of defamation.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want to hire anyone accused of something like that. But the HR department isn't the police or a court and it's not their job to warn other employers.
You don't want to live in society where your employer can get away with putting out a press release saying you are being fired just as a form of revenge by a spiteful boss.

And some people here will make their own inferences about what kind of person you are. Hey, this is fun!

Well that doesn't make any sense now does it.
Maybe it was too inconvenient
Maybe it was too inconvenient that the actual perp didn't match up too well with the image of the perp that they wanted to think did the deed back when they first reported the incident.
That could be it.
But they called what this person did " hate crimes" so keeping it private makes no sense, they didn't keep it private when asking for law enforcement to investigate.
Who are THEY?

So Curry College is protecting the identity of the accused because of self-imposed HR rules?
There is literally nothing preventing this person from carrying on their anti-social behavior elsewhere. Now that they’ve been fired over this and have been given anonymity, they may even have incentive to escalate. I hope Curry at least made them pinky swear to not do it again.
What a strange situation and not a great look for Curry College.

Makes no sense.
Possible legit interest in knowing the name
Depending on the nature of their employment, this individual could have had access to student or employee personal information, or have had the opportunity to spy on people in the college community - and there was a violent threat in at least one of the messages. If the college felt it had enough evidence to fire this person and take their chances on a lawsuit over that, it seems to me that the safety of people in this individual's targeted groups should take precedence over any concerns of a lawsuit over publishing a name.
