Mary Ellen shows how somebody had the sunset well in hand yesterday at Millennium Park in West Roxbury.
The Natiional Weather Service reports the haze is from forest fires a bit west of Worcester - in Alberta. At 8:36 this morning, the GOES-East satellite captured the smoke stream:

My brother and his wife are in the Foothills area west of Calgary. My brother commutes to his job and has to figure out the safest routes. My SIL runs a "dayhome" (licensed home daycare) and some of the families she works with have already evacuated and are living in their RVs or with family away from the danger areas. They may have to flee if the fires get much closer to the town.
My heart aches for them and their friends, especially the kids.
Mary Ellen takes such great photos.
