Another hazy day, courtesy Canadian wildfires

Hazy start to the day, with sun partially obscured

Brooks Payne pointed his camera up towards the sky over the South End this morning.

Low-lying clouds and a rising sun created this moody scene this morning as they partially obscured its orb.

The National Weather Service isn't predicting major air-quality issues for the Boston area (unlike Worcester) today, but says the haze is from wildfires in northwestern Canada, by way of the Ohio River valley.

Readings from Massachusetts air-quality monitors.

AQ rated "moderate", but the cumulative effect after yesterday's bad air still has me reaching for my inhaler.

Box fan plus HEPA filter: https://www.epa.gov/air-research/research-diy-air-cleaners-reduce-wildfi... (scroll down for infographic instructions).

You can make this child safe with some mosquito netting/screening installed inside: https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=https%3A%2F%2Fappletree.utah.gov%2Fwp...

If you don't already own a box fan, you can just buy an appropriate fan set up to use a filter - with starter filter - from an enterprising fan manufacturer. https://lasko.com/products/lasko-air-flex-2-in-1-20-inch-box-fan-and-air...
