That said, the best journalist are those with years of experience. A student can certainly cover a story but there's a lot to be said for knowing the history of a topic and fostering relationships for years. It's hard for a student to replicate that even if their editor has the chops.

One of the things that makes Uhub such a good site is that Adam does a great job putting things into context along with some background when needed.

Journalism is a hard, poorly paid, and mostly thankless job. So there's not many who go though school and keep at it for a decade or longer needed to really get good at the job. But hopefully the students in this project buck the trend.

I hope not.
