Flinty South Enders prepare for winter early

Heshan de Silva-Weeramuni spotted this early space saver at Shawmut Avenue and Hanson Street in the South End today. Oh, wait, what's that? The South End is the one neighborhood where the city bans space savers? Are you going to tell steely South Enders they can't save a space - even if the leaves on local trees are still mostly green?

The space savers are out early this year; it's gonna be a brutal winter.
This is ridiculous!
The whole idea of having space savers, which all too often has resulted in people coming to blows, or worse, over parking spaces, is utterly ridiculous, anyway. People who live in the city of Boston, regardless of which neighborhood(s) in Boston they reside in, should be petitioning the Mayor for better snow removal after heavy snowstorms occur.
That, imho, would reduce the public's desire to put things out for space savers, and the tensions and hostilities that all too often result from space-saving,
