The situation with the MBTA, as a whole, really is rather pathetic. This is the result of decades of neglect and the refusal of the MBTA managers and workers to fix problems while they were small, and to keep up with regular maintenance.
I frequent that area because I regularly attend hockey games at Agganis Arena, but I'm one of the lucky ones because I get around on buses, i.e., the 57, and buses tend to work.
