Gotta love those new EZ-Peel trucks

The remains of a truck shredded by a bridge on Soldiers Field Road

Michael Sokolov captured the aftermath of a classic storrowing this morning: The remains of a freshly storrowed box truck that had been hauled off Soldiers Field Road and dumped on Western Avenue, after its driver fought the bridge and the bridge won.

The driver's going to have a lot of fun explaining what happened when he returns the truck to the rental place, as Kevin Patrick Doyle shows us (but look at those vibrant spring colors!):

But, wait, there are more photos!

Saw this from the bus at 7 this morning--the side next to the sidewalk is way worse than the side we could see from the bus! What was this guy thinking?

It would be interesting to know the tally of the damage done to trucks on Storrow in a year. I'm guessing its in the millions?

I can't give this less than a 14 out of 10. Magnificent.

That e-z peel piece should be made into a sculpture and displayed on the Esplanade.
Then people could make selfies in front of it.
It might even work as a musical sculpture when the wind blows.

...I would not be able to resist spraypainting HA HA on them. I mean, the NO TRUCKS signs aren't working, might as well have some fun.

And on the next overpass (or whatever the driver of said truck sees afterwards) "TOLD YOU"

I wonder how fast you have to go to achieve such magnificence.

rental trucks, the driver is likely from somewhere else and is just following GPS.
End of August/early September is feeding time for the Gina Low-a-Bridgridas around here.

If you check the UHub archives you'll find that storrowing is very much a local, year-round sport now.

A generic GPS doesn't know what you're driving - do U-Hauls have built-in GPS?
