Fake cops rob owner of East Boston check-cashing place of $240,000
Boston Police report they are looking for two men for a holdup outside the Check Place, 230 Meridian St. in East Boston around 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
Both suspects are described as white or white Hispanic males wearing dark clothing and caps. The suspects fled in the victim’s motor vehicle which was later recovered on Border Street.
WCVB interviewed the victim, who said he had picked up the cash at his bank in the Fenway and was just about to get out of his car outside his business when the two men banged on his window, identified themselves as police officers and said they had a warrant for his arrest. They then pulled him out of his car and drove off.
Police report they later found the car on Border Street.
