Man shot on Fernboro Street in Dorchester, suspect arrested, police say

Boston Police report a man was shot at 28 Fernboro St. in Dorchester around 8 a.m.

Later in the day, police arrested Carlos Encarnacion, 48, of Dorchester, on charges of armed assault with intent to murder, illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition. Police say Encarnacion was arrested in Framingham.

The victim, taken to a local hospital in serious condition, is expected to survive, police say.
