Free commuter rail service with extra cars really takes the sting out for work commuters.
If the end result is a 12 minute quicker and more reliable ride into Boston from Braintree I’d call it a win.

The Braintree branch shutdown is one of the better just for the fact there is already parellel rail service that can stand in for situations like this. That's why having redundancy can be great. Still not ideal, but certainly better than other shutdowns on the various lines that fully relied upon bus service.
Will the Commuter Rail be free during this period?
