Man set himself on fire outside Israeli consulate last week in protest over Gaza

Haaretz reports the man was taken to a local hospital Wednesday night after setting himself on fire in front of the Israeli consulate at 20 Park Plaza.
Boston paramedics and firefighters responded to Park Plaza and Columbus Avenue at 8:13 p.m. where, after dousing the man, identified as Matt Nelson, found him with second-degree burns over roughly 70% of his body.
In a video - originally posted to YouTube, which then took it down - Nelson said his "extreme act of protest" was against US support for Israel and Israel's actions in Gaza.

I think he finally did it! Lighting himself on fire stopped the atrocities that have been going on thousands of miles away since way before he was born. Everyone just decided to come to their senses! Bravo!

How about instead...
you could show an ounce of empathy for someone so overwhelmed by the indiscriminate killings of tens of thousands of civilians that they felt sacrificing their life in protest was the best response.
Just because you don't give a shit or maybe even think that those killings are justified, doesn't mean you can't spare a thought for how another human might think about an ongoing tragedy and what the value of their own life means to them.
I'm going with Darwin Award here
If you're that psychologically unstable then perhaps it's best that you don't pass those genes on to future generations.
Sacrificing your life in protest is never the correct response. If you value your life so little, maybe put it on the line by volunteering to be an aid worker in Gaza (there's a need!) or in any other number of dangerous places.

...what does the word mean to you?
I mean, not to inflame the situation, but some believe that to the Israeli government, the killings target Palestinians without concern for threat or culpability. Depending on your point of view, you could call that "indiscriminate"...or you could say no, of course the killings are quite selective. They've simply selected all Palestinians. So...what do you mean when you use that word?
