You're a bit out of date. Back in 2021 Mr. Potato Head was rebranded as Potato Head in an effort to be gender inclusive. Look it up.

Good chance they are floating this rumor to get more tax breaks and other consideration from RI.
Tax breaks for specific firms never are a net positive to the state. No company is worth it. Put tax money into things that help everyone, not just the books of a single firm.

Mr. & Mrs Potatohead's adventures in Boston's Lego Land. Sounds like a plan to me.
Plus the more jobs don't hurt.

I'm old enough to remember when a bunch of Fairfield County wives of GE execs wanted to live closer to their 2nd homes on Nantucket and the company fleeced us to last here for about ten minutes.

Remember the whole Evergreen Solar debacle where Patrick poured tens of millions into a solar panel factory in Devens that quickly went bankrupt and the state got nothing to show for it. (Although I think it might be a cannabis factory now.)
Adorable.

MassMutual plays this game.
It is always interesting to see if their headcount is higher in Springfield or in that big yellow building next to I-91 in Enfield to see which state is giving them a better deal.
Also, do you really think Fidelity people want to be in big office parks in North Smithfield RI or Merrimack NH? It is all in the tax game.
You have no idea what you're talking about again, John.

Hasbro already has trouble attracting designers and talented people because of where it's located.
If it does happen, they'll only move north.

I guess my brother in law who just retired from Hasbro has no idea what is going on despite being in the real estate arm of the company and telling me about it.
Asshole.

Providence is a cheaper city but still has a nightlife and city things. I would think it's easier attracting someone new to Providence vs the prospect of paying Boston prices for housing. Plus you have all the longtime back office workers who are going to loathe relocating.
The biggest reason to relocate would be if MA gives them a sweetheart tax or land deal.
Air service might also be part of the equation

If you're running a large multinational corporation being somewhere like Providence can be a minus when Logan is so well-connected to the world. The large airline hubs in Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, etc. have helped drive regional growth and retain companies.
