A developer has filed plans to convert four floors at 60 South St., in the Leather District near South Station, for use as Level 2 life-sciences labs.
In its filing with the Boston Planning Department, Nan Fung Life Sciences Real Estate, says the change at the building, also known as 2 Financial Center, will require beefier HVAC systems on the roof of the 12-story building - and a new roof deck on which to put the heavier equipment.
Still, in a measure of how much the local life-sciences development market has cooled, the proposal calls for changing just 21,535 square feet of office space for the new use, in a city where, even just last year, developers were proposing large new life-sciences buildings in numerous neighboroods.

Does anyone know what's inside the State Street Bank skyscraper recently built at Gov. Center? Besides the obvious entity in big letters at top of the structure? It's quite something.
What bank is going to finance more empty lab space

I worked at this building for several years. Uncle Peat’s must be downsizing quite a bit since we had all of the floors…

And there goes the cool roof deck for receptions or just hiding from tax forms on deadline days
