Police hunt two-fisted East Boston robber with a gun in one hand, a machete in the other
Boston Police report they are looking for a man they say held up two markets around the corner from each other in East Boston - while holding two different types of weapons to convince employees to hand over money.
Police say the bilingual, bi-weapon man robbed the East Boston Corner Market, 83 Bennington St. at Marion Street, around 9:50 p.m. on Nov. 2 at both gun- and machete-point, then sauntered around the corner to the East Coast Variety store, 223 London St. about seven minutes later and held it up the same way.
Police did not say how the man grabbed his loot.
The suspect is reported to be armed with a machete and a firearm, and speaks both English and Spanish. He was wearing a jacket inside out with the Honda logo on it.
Police say the man is to be considered double armed and dangerous, so if you spot him, don't approach, but instead call 911.
Anybody with info on the guy can contact detectives at 617-343-4234 or the anonymous tip line by calling 800-494-TIPS or by texting TIP to CRIME (27463).
