By adamg on Wed, 11/13/2024 - 4:19pm
CommonWealth Beacon interviewed Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell on her agenda after Jan. 20:
At stake, she said, are the rule of law; reproductive rights; LGBTQIA+ rights; immigrants’ rights; racial justice; environmental justice; health care; education, including student loan programs; gun violence prevention; and federal benefits programs like Social Security and Medicaid.

Gaetz
Oh orange face just put Butthead (of Beavis and Butthead) in charge of the Justice Department.
The scum that has formed a ring around my toilet bowl because its due for a cleaning is better than Gaetz.
I mean really.. this guy was caught paying underaged girls for sex, and now he's going to be the country's AG?!?!?
Oh dear lordy, we are in for a wild ride.
Well, not yet he's not
Immediate reaction even has those in Congress on Trump's side doubting that Gaetz can get through the confirmation process.

Two words - recess
Two words - recess appointments
The whole point of nominating Gaetz
It sends a message that your life will be hell if you even think of standing the way of the White House. That goes for Senators too, even those with a (R) next to their name. Should they block his appointment, Trump will just nominate someone else of the same ilk.
He's made no bones about using every lever of government for revenge and enrichment.
Well then...
...I hope he recruits house Republicans with reckless abandon.
I wanna run and hide!
Right now ...
This is a good time
To point out that if the Electoral College consisted only of the 11 states who are net payers of federal funds, Harris wins 150-12.
Trump won the welfare states 300-76. When does the tail stop wagging the dog?
70% of Welfare Recipients Work Full Time
So at least 70% work harder than Will.
And that's not because he only works part-time, either. Even when he had full time jobs, he's usually too lazy to do the work at all while the recipients worked their fingers to the bone.
He's not talking about them
Welfare states are those that take more from the Federal government than they contribute to it. They aren't necessarily those where the most individuals receiving welfare live.
The word "Welfare" has been
The word "Welfare" has been stigmatized in the US since at least the 1960s. The word is no longer used colloquially to denote the state of doing well especially in respect to good fortune, happiness, well-being, or prosperity as it once was. Now it's used to mean aid in the form of money or necessities for those in need. I think Merriam-Webster needs to flip their definition.
He won't rest
Until there's federal charges against every elected Democrat in the US.
Even if he's replaced in 4 years, the office will forever be seen as a political tool and the charges meaningless even when they are valid.
For someone who claims to hate immigrants, Trump seems pretty enamored of the worst of corrupt governments.
But Hillary
I honestly feel sorry for Hillary Clinton because you know she's going to be a target of his.
She's been a private citizen for almost 10 years now, and now he will use our own gov't to go after her.
its gonna be disturbing to watch this all play out.
Not so sure
Clinton is old news at this point. My money is on him going after the children and families of prominent democrats to make it seem like Trump's kids aren't so corrupt in comparison and to scare would-be candidates from running for office.
Trump is the king of pay-to-play so any corporation that publicly criticizes him or at least doesn't give special treatment is going to encounter endless investigations.
Same goes for reputable news organizations, activist organizations, judges who have ruled against him, "elite" universities, etc.
He's broken
He's also a broken record who's mind seems to live in the past and put things on repeat in his brain.
I am sure someone will mention "Hillary" and he'll snap back to 2016 and the garbage he spewed about her for years after.
Absurd Appointments
With any luck Gaetz won't get past the Senate.
Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence is also a sick joke. She's a Russian asset, a "useful idiot" as the KGB/FSB/GRU refers to their (somewhat) unwitting accomplices. TFG won't need to store documents in his bathroom, she'll just email them directly.
i remain truly amazed
by the unflappable faith in institutions that is displayed here daily in spite of everything, everywhere
Right?
It's like with the taxi medallions years ago when Uber arrived, or the liquor license cap: You thought government was going to protect your investment and pick you as a winner forever?
i remain truly amazed by the
Ain't it cool @berkleealum? The United States of America of which Boston is the hub, still stands strong.
As far as the rule of law and
As far as the rule of law and reproductive rights goes: I believe Matt Gaetz as Attorney General of the United States would be most concerned with cases involving the age of consent. /snark
He will be popular with some here
as I hear that he will strongly pursue those who violate traffic laws. For more on his plans, look up "Matt Gaetz traffic"
