Teen shot to death on Payson Avenue in Dorchester

UPDATE: Victim identified as Jerry Gomes, 16.

Boston Police report a man shot in the head while sitting in a car outside 10 Payson Ave. around 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim appeared to be in his late teens, police say.

The shooting scene is less than a half mile from where a man was shot to death in a barbershop on Tuesday.
