Southie needs Shotdpotter like they have in Roxbury and Dorchester. Maybe they can be installed on the roof decks of some of these luxury condos. It would definitely be a selling point.

and either way, they are really only necessary if residents don't call the police. I don't know anyone who wouldn't call the police after hearing multiple gunshots near their $1 million+ two bedroom condo?

You obviously are an expert on Shotspotters. They are to pinpoint the location of shots fired so the police can be dispatched to the area before citizens call the police.

but they aren't necessary on the rooftops of luxury condo buildings, but rather in the projects where the bullets fly out of. We had just walked back from Moakley via East eight street. After making our way into our home, we heard the gun-shots and the tires screeching.

They’re not installed. Southie has no shotspotter coverage at all.

4 of those shots hit my building an inch below my window.

I heard them last night. Glad I'm moving at the end of the month, things seems to be getting crazier every summer around here.

Are shot spotters only placed in the inner city? Is it true that the MBTA is putting a shot spotter at Dudley Terminal?
