JP man charged with shooting gun into the air in Dorchester

Boston Police report last night's paroxysm of gun violence in Dorchester included a man shooting a gun into the air at Claridge Terrace and Wentworth Street, near Codman Square.

Police report officers responding to a report of gunfire around 10:20 p.m. arrested Hakim Jackson, 31, of Jamaica Plain, on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling after they recovered "a loaded revolver which the suspect had fired in the air and discarded."

Earlier in the evening, a man was shot to death at Brookford and Dacia streets and four people were shot following an argument on Faywood Street.
