UPDATE: Bail set at $250,000 for each of the three men.
State Police report an investigation that began late last year led them and Homeland Security to the South Bay mall, where they arrested three men walking around with "three duct-taped bricks of fentanyl, each weighing just over a kilogram" on Friday.
Pablo Alberto Arias Herrera, 48, of Dorchester and Omar Medina-Santiago, 31, and Julio Missael Ramirez Peguero, 26, both of Roslindale, were charged with trafficking a Class A substance and conspiracy to violate drug laws, State Police say, adding the three already had outstanding warrants for narcotics-related offenses.
The investigation, which began in late 2018 and targeted a fentanyl trafficking organization operating in and around Boston, involved multiple controlled purchases of the powerful opioid.
Innocent, etc.

to put that in perspective - here is a clip from an earlier CNN article about a bust in New York....
(CNN)A home in a quiet Westchester County, New York, neighborhood was hiding enough fentanyl to kill 2 million people, the US Drug Enforcement Administration said.
Federal agents found five kilograms (just over 11 pounds) of fentanyl and six kilograms (13.2 pounds) of heroin Friday when they raided a fentanyl mill operating out of a home in Ardsley, the DEA said.
These dirtbags should never see the streets again - ever. lock them up, destroy the key - carry on.
Are we sure these aren't terroists?

a 1000 micrograms hit of Fentanyl means death is near certain. They had enough to kill everybody in New England plus a whole lot more people.

ricin comes from castor beans and a poppy seed bagel may cause you to flunk a drug test so keep that in mind and please, DONT PANIC
If these 3 were trying to gain access to a water supply or had somehow found a way to vaporize Fentanyl into a gas an were shopping for a crop duster to dump all over the city then sure, you my have a point.
These are businessmen, for lack of a better word.
Theyre shipping an illegal product from Point A to Point B.

Drug crimes and immigration, smart to do in Dorchester
By O-FISH-L

Smart of these defendants to commit their crimes in Suffolk County where drug violations and questionable immigration status equal a fighting chance of dismissal. This is no accident. I'm told that dealers now make it a point to handle transactions inside the county line. A few miles north or south (Essex, Norfolk) and they're in another world. I wonder if the brave federal agents who participated in the arrests will be allowed into the Dorchester court room? Hopefully the US Attorney bumps this up to the federal level where public safety is taken seriously.

Precisely nobody believes you.
If they are in fact smart enough to know about jurisdictions then why, Officer Friendly, are they walking around in public at South Bay.
I suggest ignoring whichever voices you hear that are telling you this and upping the blood pressure meds.
Just relax, Fish.

But I think you might be giving these criminals too much credit for their cunning well thought out plans.
Yep, they were debating

between Dedham Center or South Bay--so they checked the google machine and decided on Suffolk County. Sure thing.
The void

Last year they busted 33 people with 32 pounds in Boston in one sweep.
https://www.foxnews.com/us/33-pounds-of-fentanyl-e... (Sorry for the racist picture - that was the State Police)
This smaller bust with more poundage per person tells me the void needs filling. Keep an eye on it. With the decriminalization of dealing and using in Suffolk County, you are going to see some overworked higher level dealers.... and maybe some new faces.... No. Just kidding. The faces will remain the same.

Or was walking around South Bay with six pounds of fentanyl part of the plan?
Wouldn't a secluded area where you could see if you're being watched be smarter?
Morons.
Drug Dealers

They aren't the brightest bulbs on the Christmas Tree.
Seriously I cannot fathom why ANY drug dealer would put fentanyl into people's shit. Its automatic death.
Don't these idiot drug dealers know the minute a customer dies, they are no longer a customer. You kill off your customers, you have no business *smh*
Then again you can't fix stupid sometimes..
I watched a Nat Geo episode

I watched a Nat Geo episode of Drugs Inc, it’s focus was Boston. One dealer said he puts Fentanyl in a percentage of his heroin bags. His plan is to intentionally have some clients overdose. If people OD, that’s the good stuff right there, you WANT that heroin. Hell of a selling point
You are 100% correct. Cybah

You are 100% correct. Cybah doesn't know what it's like to chase that high. It's the addiction mentality and behavior that you develop as you do more and more of the stuff. When a friend OD's, you then want to know where he got his shit because that means it's good.
