Police arrest two guys they say were shooting at each other across Centre Street in Jackson Square

Boston Police report arresting two men, one from Jamaica Plain and one from Roxbury, who engaged in a shootout across Centre Street late Monday night.

Police say neither of the men were able to hit the other, but that a third person was grazed by a bullet during the gun battle around 11:50 p.m. on Centre Street in the area of Wise Street and in front of the Mildred Hailey Apartments.

Andre Raper, 26, of Jamaica Plain, was arrested yesterday afternoon at 934 Parker St. in the nearby Mildred Hailey Apartments on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, police say. Raper is not unknown to police.

Jerome Barrows, 22, of Roxbury, was arrested around 6 p.m. yesterday around 6 p.m. at 277 Centre St. - basically where police found spent shell casings from the shootout, on the same charges. He was also charged with withholding evidence from a criminal proceeding, police say. Barrows also is known to police.

Innocent, etc.

Is that why there were a bunch of people holding signs at Jackson Square station? I couldn't make out what the signs said.

Ugh. What's up with Bromley Heath? Jackson Square is my closest stop. Today I decided to walk across the street instead of just walking up on the BH side. Been getting good yuca up at the restaurant, too for years . All good people I've known for years but it sucks BH is still crazy after all these years. Always will have some who have to ruin it for others.
