Police say man didn't observe coronavirus etiquette and back up in line at a Codman Square ATM, instead, he started waving a gun around
Boston Police report a coronavirus-related arrest for an incident outside the Citizens Bank branch at 569 Washington St. in Codman Square this afternoon.
Police say that Ricardio Pantojas, 40, got a bit too close to some other people waiting in line for the ATM around 12:45 p.m.
When asked to move away, the male suspect refusing to practice social distancing and adhere to the line restrictions, brandished a firearm and pointed it in the direction of the victims. Before police arrived, the male suspect and a female accomplice jumped into a motor vehicle and fled the scene.
Police say officers caught up with the car, and Pantojas, a couple blocks away on Whitfield Street:
Given the presence of a firearm, both suspects were ordered to exit the vehicle. After the occupants were removed from the car, a search of the vehicle enabled officers to see and seize a loaded Bersa .380 semi-automatic firearm.
Pantojas was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawlful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm on a public way and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, police say.
Innocent, etc.
