Man arrested on gun charges at Dorchester block party, a few days after two men were stabbed at a block party on the same street

Boston Police report officers looking for double-stabbing suspects that left one victim with life-threatening injuries on at a Livingstone Street block party on June 20 arrested a man on gun charges at another block party on the same street early this morning.

Police say officers on patrol around 12:30 a.m. spotted a car matching the description of one seen near the double stabbing, around 1:45 a.m. on June 20 and got out to investigate:

Officers observed a group of approximately fifteen to twenty individuals drinking alcohol and dancing on Livingstone Street, with a particular group congregating inside and outside of the vehicle while bottles and cups filled with alcohol covered the roof. Officers approached the vehicle in an effort to ascertain the identity of the individuals in hopes of locating a potential person(s) of interest in relation to the previous stabbing.

Officers spoke with the operator and the three passengers. While speaking with one of the rear passengers, officers observed the front passenger, suddenly lunge forward towards the front floor board appearing to quickly conceal an item. Additionally, officers observed an open container of alcohol next to the front passenger’s left foot. Officers’ attention was again drawn to the front passenger, who was partially outside of the vehicle. The front passenger was wearing shorts and during the conversation, stiffened his right arm, adjusting an apparent item within the pocket. Officers further observed the front passenger’s shorts to be significantly weighed down by an apparently heavy object. The front passenger was subsequently removed from the vehicle and within his shorts’ pocket, officers located a black and brown Raven Arms .25 caliber firearm loaded with five rounds of live ammunition. The front passenger was taken into custody.

Loubens Petit-Homme, 32, of Mattapan, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm, police say. Officers did not have far to go to book him - Livingstone Street is about a block away from the B-3 station.

Police did not say if he had any connection to the double stabbing. The car's driver was given a ticket for having an open container of alcohol, police say.

Innocent, etc.
