Raisman reports that Mylo, who broke away and ran during fireworks in the Seaport on July 3, was found today by three good Samaritans - and their dog - all the way down near UMass Boston.

never mind that the dog, at least as characterized by its owner, sounded like a bit of diva: "Don't chase it, and don't shout its name!"
I had a rowdy kitten once that pushed her way through the patio screen and shortly got run over, poor thing. First venture out of doors, really bad luck on a quiet street. I didn't and don't blame the driver.
My best bud's gentle but nervous pup got spooked off-leash by something in Blackstone Square Park, took off. We spent the next five hours in separate cars, slowly combing the adjacent 50 square blocks to no avail. The anguish! Social media reports suggested possible sightings miles away. She somehow found her way home late that night, exhausted but otherwise no worse for wear, a small miracle.
I much prefer that kind of happy ending. Those sweet, guileless creatures burrow into our souls.
They are good at that

Dogs are good at that. Maybe Raisman's was too new, and hadn't yet learned where home is.

That's the advice given for all missing dogs. They are lost, likely afraid and in an unfamiliar area. Yelling at them and chasing them isn't going to bring about a desirable resolution.

He drank a couple of beers at M Street Beach, then smoked a couple of joints at Carson.

Time to get rid of the leash rule exceptions for good boys and celebrities.

At least according to the original story. Guess what? Shit happens.
If someone drops a glass by mistake do you suggest they should forever use sippy cups?

The only thing missing is a human hand on the other end of the leash.

You must not be a dog owner. A dog that is scared by an unexpected loud noise can easily bolt, even with "a human hand on the leash." Why are you so intent on blaming the dog owner in this situation?

If broken glass littered our sidewalks and public parks, I'd advocate for that.

I see far, far more broken glass (and discarded cans) than I do dog shit. Yet somehow the Uhub commentators don't condem all beer drinkers because a small percentage are irresponsible.

And maybe you can afford to live in Boston and get that chip off your shoulder.
