Boarded up building and New York cab on Federal Street

The Fort Pointer came across the channel this morning and strolled around Federal Street as it was getting re-made as a post-apocalyptic New York for the Walking Dead series.

Still, at least we're getting some new subway signs:

Plenty of vacant commercial real estate with every turn of the head for crew to hang out in and store all their stuff.

Could've saved on props by filming at Mass and Cass and Boston Common.

We pay huge subsidies to Hollywood to film here and are told that part of the reason is it’s great publicity for Boston and MA generally to be seen on the big screen. But so many movies are just using Boston for the tax breaks and then dress it up as another city. Sure we’ll get the requisite “blue collar white heist movie” starring an Affleck or Damon but I think that money could be better spent on education or housing.

Kook was active in Boston in the early 90s, perhaps earlier but that’s when I moved to town. Was he a set designer or that actual graffiti?

Unless you've experienced the Combat Zone thosee scenes aren't at all probably. Thing is; The Administration cleaned it up immediately back then.

A Zombie Apocalypse would face a lot of push back in Boston.

So one day the combat zone appeared and “the administration” cleaned it up immediately? My memory is the combat zone existed for awhile not a day.
