Man stabbed outside Mass and Cass shelter; suspect arrested

Boston Police report arresting a woman they say stabbed a man outside the city shelter at 112 Southampton St. around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Police say they quickly IDed a suspect and soon after found her at Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard. Amber Kelly, 34, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police say, adding she had five outstanding warrants for other alleged crimes.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries not considered life threatening, police say.
