South Boston phone store could be replaced by tropical fruits and coconuts

The Zoning Board of Appeal today approved plans to replace a former T-Mobile store at 471 West Broadway in South Boston's Perkins Square with a Playa Bowl outlet that serves dishes featuring such tropical offerings as açaí, pitaya and coconut, as well as smoothies for people who prefer their tropical tastes in more liquid forms.

The location would be the chain's third Boston outlet and the first not near a college campus.

Through an aide, City Councilor Ed Flynn voiced his support.

The outlet will still need to seek a food-serving license from the Boston Licensing Board.

This wouldn’t happen in Old Southie.

Remember the old days when Southie was overrun by T Mobile stores. Kinda sad to see one of the last ones bite the dust. Surely the end of an era.

When Magoo is feeling frisky feisty Magoo will sumtimes wear a coconut bra and tropical fruit underrooos and do exotic dances for Mrs. Magoo. Magoo.
