The Sunday Globe has a well-researched report on the value of tax exemptions and other financial breaks enjoyed by area hospital companies.
The piece gives context, and raises the question of whether hospitals should be paying more to the local government.

This story is worth at least a skim, by the way. We've heard of this general issue before, and we'll probably hear more about it in the future, but this article is relatively noteworthy. I think it will inform further dialog and perhaps catalyze some machinations.
It's also a good example of erring on the side of balance rather than persuasion or sensation. We don't see enough of that in local news.
