Still there?
My 14-year old Jack Harkness groupie with a Charlie Card wants to know.
Shouldn't that be the Massachusetts Institute of Chronology?
Oh man I hope so
I'll be able to go by tomorrow morning. Hopefully it won't have taken off to save the universe somewhere/somewhen else by then...
Still there
As of 9:15am on 8/26/10.
Really? I was there an hour ago and didn't see it
I just went by to see it and there was no TARDIS on the roof by the dome.
There were like 1000 Chinese parents getting photos of their freshman kids in front of a building that had no spaceship / time machine / police box on the roof, but that's all I was able to see there.
(I'll be kicking myself it was there and I just had a bad angle, but I walked all around the field there and couldn't see it.)
The Flickr photos you took
The Flickr photos you took were of the Great Dome; Melanie's photos show the TARDIS on top of the Little Dome, which is above 77 Massachusetts Avenue.
How many domes does one school need, anyway?
Clearly I'm not an MIT alumni.
Frustratingly, I parked right in front of this dome, but didn't realize from street level that there was another dome -- or, more to the point, a time machine -- above the door I walked through.
I'm going back later to see if it's still there :-)
You probably blinked.
Don't blink.
Captain Jack FTW!
Your 14-year-old sounds like my kind of kid.
Not that kind of doctor!
As an MIT brat and a Doctor Who fan, I approve!
In other news...
Police are searching for a curiously attired English gentleman, and his young female companion, in connection with an incident this morning at an MIT lab. This lab is rumored to be involved in secret research involving genetics and advanced cybernetics. An MIT spokesperson denies this, and states that there is no danger to the public.
Places Named After Numbers
Hey...
...don't ya rile 'em.
and probably more appropriately:
So close...
Too bad the Doctor missed by a few years and wasn't able to prevent the Stata Center from being built...
MIT kheds ahe whecked smaht.
MIT kheds ahe whecked smaht.
This terrible typed fake
This terrible typed fake accent offends me
Well, they need all the help
Well, they need all the help they can get . . .
Where did they get it?
Where did anyone get a 1950's British Police Box? I've wanted one for years! Did they make it themselves?
Ya think? :-)
It's a big blue box, how hard can it have been to just build it from scratch?
That roof is 50 feet above the street, so it's not like pedestrians can scrutinize it for accuracy from ground level, so they didn't have to worry about it being a particularly convincing match for the real thing.
