The campaign takes its tolls

Mihos comes out against the tollbacks on the turnpike as a cheap political trick.

Elias calls it electoral blackmail. Berto thinks eliminating the tolls is a great idea, but predicts the plan will die when Patrick wins.

Outraged Liberal: OK Mitt and Kerry -- how about rolling back T fares too?

Oh, but what would a campaign report be without long discussions of rape and murder?

Blue Mass. Group says poll numbers, outcries show the rape ads are backfiring on Kerry Healey. Also, Reed Hillman has some ethical issues to explain, this time involving a guy seeking a liquor license.

Hub Politics must not have seen the latest poll, claiming Patrick's support continues to free fall over the rape/murder cases. Also, wonders how victims' groups can support such a MoFo; says of course Mass. Lawyers Weekly endorsed Patrick; board members donated $3,000 to him.

Mike Mennonno thinks the new rape ad (you can see it here) is Healey's last-ditch effort to convince white women not to vote for a black man.

Devone sees a similarity between Patrick's attacks on the ads and Joe Lieberman's hypocritical faux-attack on Hollywood in 2000.

The Outraged Liberal notes that professional criminologists don't much cotton to Healey.

Blog wars: Charles Foster Kane: Why does Hub Politics hate America? Also, did Hub Politics not notice that none of the alleged pinko journos it noted giving money to Patrick have anything to do with covering the race? And how come it's OK for Hub Politics to give money to candidates it covers? Oh, yeah, Mr. Kane was busy today - also came up with a simple word-find for Mass. GOP News.

Kimberly Atkins notes grannies booed Healey at a debate in front of seniors this morning; also talks to Patrick about Healey and LaGuer and asks if Mihos should concede now.

Pshaw, retorts Mihos back Jesse Legg - why, every day a new blogger supports Mihos (even way out in California).

Lance: I'd have enjoyed seeing Healey get booed by a room full of seniors shaking their canes at her.

Another blogger wonders if somebody's trying to game boston.com's most-mailed-stories list.

MBTA fares are a bargain. Why would we need to roll them back? The T doesn't cover its expenses, as is.

Meanwhile, the Turnpike could pay off all its bonds, no problem.
