Talbot Avenue all lit up in blue tonight

In a roughly 30-minute span this evening, police responded to a home invasion on Talbot near Dot. Ave. a car crash at Washington Street and then a foot chase onto Whitfield Street.

Residents of 514 Talbot Ave. told police three men with guns burst into the small apartment building shortly after 9 p.m., apparently looking for somebody. One wore a scully cap, another a skeleton mask - which police recovered.

Around the same time, police, EMTs and firefighters responded to Codman Square for a bad car crash. And not long after that, an officer began chasing a man on Talbot and down to Whitfield Street - which may have had something to do with the gun police recovered from the car crashed a couple blocks away in Codman Square.

So when is BPD going to admit something bigger has been going on the past few days? Or is this going to get the East Boston code of silence treatment from the press?

What do you mean? Between the numbers BPD releases every few days and those of us listening to the scanner, I can't tell that anything out of the ordinary is going on. Its starting to warm up, crime will pick up a bit, thats just the way things go, every single year. The statistics overall are still down from years past.

If theres something obvious I havent noticed, please say it outright.
