Walsh on technology: Boston to get 311

In his State of the City address, Mayor Walsh said he plans to turn the Mayor's Hotline into an easier-to-remember 311 system, like Somerville and New York have.

Walsh added he will hire a "startup czar" to help entrepreneurs start new businesses in Boston, from the Innovation District to new neighborhood innovation centers.

He added the city is working on an app to let people use their phones to pay for parking spaces.

How about a czar who went to UMass, not Harvard this hire?

That would be innovative!

Not sure if the other depts are Hahvahd-heavy.

And in any case, if we want to tap local expertise, wouldn't it make sense to look to Babson and its grads, seeing as how they're held in high regard for exactly this sort of thing?

What about Wentworth or Northeastern, dont they have a czar program? I am sure BC would, the brothers teach everything.

If blasting Harvard Business school is a slight against Bush, Romney and Baker, they are wealthy and therefore successful and the best to lead the world.
