You can get shot anywhere, but the probability of being shot in most of the city is vanishingly small. In fact, the threat of gun violence is very low in most of the country if you go block by block. I'm in my 60s, and I've never known anyone who has taken part in gun violence. And my life has been far less sheltered than most of the readers of this site.

it is disconcerting to me how often I've been somewhere, and later learn that someone got shot a half hour before, or a half hour after, I'd been in the area.

I worked at a magazine publisher on Walden Street beside Bromley Heath from maybe 1972-1976. It was bad then. It's bad now. What to do? I have not a clue.

When the Feds are letting a guy that trafficked guns to drug dealers and terrorists walk on 17 months time served for 'cooperation', and the state AG is MIA on prosecuting the same guy with state level charges, it's pretty clear there's a serious problem with the system not adequately punishing offenders.
Almost all crime committed with firearms is by repeat offenders. Why is it that these criminals aren't afraid of being prosecuted multiple times? The system is a joke to them.

I got fingerprinted, passed a background check, took a safety course, and interviewed in person for my LTC. We are all safer because people like me can't buy Glocks in MA.

To this list you could also add the spate of shootings on Gay Head, Minden, Heath, and Round Hill Streets. It's been a grim few months over here.

It's always gonna be beef between the two because of whatever reasons that they have with one another. In my opinion i think the whole shit is stupid no matter what the reason is it has been to many bodies that have dropped between them. Oh and i know because of all the rap video that they put on YouTube
