Balcony brawlers due in court on June 5

The Suffolk County D.A.'s office reports those two guys who battled it out at a Pops concert face a probable-cause hearing in Boston Municipal Court. A court clerk will determine whether any charges in the case should be issued and, if so, against whom.

Ellinger (the tapper) made a big show of going to BPD HQ the next day to file a complaint against Hallam (the chatter). That’d not be notable, except Ellinger apparently arranged to have TV news crews there to film it, and record his awkward attempt at 15 minutes of (sorta, in a sad way) fame.

Frankly it appears to be a Jerry Springer style race-to-the-bottom.

I did notice the Globe ran a me-too article about public performance etiquette, duplicating articles published prior to the incident in other cities (and that had been linked to in blogs.)

It’s always interesting to read a rewritten article with local quotes inserted, and edifying to see the “research process”.

can you blame him? To his story, the man was visciously assaulted at a public, ticketed event, then kicked out on the street by an indifferent symphony and the police. If his story is true I would think he should get a lifetime pass from the BSO for trying to retain some semblance of decorum at symphony hall, and that the attacker should be tried the same as if he mugged someone on the common.

if it takes complaining to the herald and the tv tabloid--er, local-- news then so be it. apparently it's working
