I'm concerned that Hope Coleman who called EMTs for medical assistance for Terrence (he was schizophrenic and was having a mental health crisis) ended up with a dead son.
It made me wonder if there could have been an outcome where Terrence, 2 EMTs and 2 police officers survived the call and Terrence got the medical care he needed.
Thank God for the cops being there at that exact moment to save the life of the EMT's.
Otherwise we would be mourning the loss of an EMT this morning...a person who's only purpose of their job they do day in and day out is to attempt to help sick people - be it mental or physical sickness.
While it's a tragedy that a human life is lost, it's fortunate that those who were only there to help this apparently sick man were not gravely injured.
It's possible, maybe even likely, that it played out as the police are saying and not as the other witness is saying. But I'm going to wait for the investigation before start praising or blaming anyone.
I know the police did not want to kill this mentally ill man, but it sure does seem like most are not well equipped to handle this kind of situation. It's even more inexcusable here because this is not the first time this guy has threatened people with a knife, including when the police were there. There has got to be a better way...

Please let him be white.

That's somewhat of a rotten
That's somewhat of a rotten thing to say. The man's mother is the one that had to dial 911. My thoughts go to her regardless of color.
He's was NOT white

Sounds terrifying for everyone involved
Thoughts are with the family, injured people, and officers.
I heard those gunshots.
No mistaking them. Chilling.
Thank God
