I had some over the summer at the Rogue Brewpub in Portland. The stuff is pretty brutal. We split a bottle about 5 ways and I couldn't even tolerate that small of a pour. Tastes like liquified maple syrup with overly strong bacon notes at the end. Great gag gift but don't get too excited to drink it even if you're a maple-bacon fan.
I have seen it at Downtown Wine and Spirits in Davis, BTW
I have tried it on draft, fortunately in a tiny sample cup. You can probably make something similar at home with a brown ale, liquid smoke, and maple syrup.
The reason it is pink and labled VOODOO has to do with it being the supposed beer interpretation of VooDoo Doughnuts' maple bacon bar.
Now THAT I can recommend ... just bring a friend because it is huge. (Good things come in pink boxes!)
