The folks at the Boston City Archives say the BRA took this photo inside a church in Charlestown in 1967 and wonder which church it was. This isn't one of those historic puzzlers where they will tell us the answer later - they really aren't sure and are seeking help identifying the church. See it larger - or see it gigantic.

Nation of Islam hates vaccines

A roving UHub photographer noticed today that the Nation of Islam is advertising its hatred of the government and Covid-19 vaccines at Muhummad's Mosque No. 11, a former funeral home, on Washington Street in Grove Hall, right next to the Prince Hall Grand Lodge, which is urging people to get vaccinated.

Today's council meeting opened with an invocation by Rabbi Barbara Penzner of Temple Hillel B'nai Torah in West Roxbury.

A federal judge ruled today that Salem-based Satanists can continue to press their claim that the way the Boston City Council picks clergy members to start its Wednesday meetings - but not them - violates the Constitution's ban on the establishment of religion. Read more.

Boston Police report they are looking for a man they say jammed the locks a St. Teresa of Calcutta Church and St. John Paul II Catholic Academy, 800 Columbia Rd. in Dorchester and St. Monica-St. Augustine Church, 331 Old Colony Ave. in South Boston with an unknown substance early this morning. The Supreme Judicial Court ruled today that a professor denied a promotion at a religious college retains the right to sue because she is not a "minister," which would otherwise let the school discriminate against her on religious grounds. Read more.
