Man sought for jamming locks at churches in Dorchester, South Boston, knocking over Virgin Mary statue
Boston Police report they are looking for a man they say jammed the locks a St. Teresa of Calcutta Church and St. John Paul II Catholic Academy, 800 Columbia Rd. in Dorchester and St. Monica-St. Augustine Church, 331 Old Colony Ave. in South Boston with an unknown substance early this morning.
At St. Teresa of Calcutta, he also put a bike lock around the door handles of the main entrance, police say.
At St. Monica-St. Augustine, he also knocked over A Virgin Mary statue, police say, adding that somebody also knocked the statue over on March 5.

Hate crime requires specific hate.
Attacking multiple churches motivated by hatred or bigotry is a hate crime. Attacking multiple churches because you are crazy is not a hate crime.
