For the second time in a year, the Zoning Board of Appeal has rejected a proposal by a billboard company and the Polish American Citizens Club to erect a digital billboard on club property to beam ads at Expressway drivers - and to help financially support the non-profit club. Read more.

Live Boston reports a woman was shot in a vehicle on Dorchester Avenue near Divine Way around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. She is expected to survive.

The Zoning Board of Appeal today agreed to reconsider its decision in May to reject a plan by the Polish-American Club on Boston Street to erect a new billboard on a pole next to I-93, not because the club has since sued the board but because its zoning lawyer has since filed detailed renderings of what the billboard would look like, information the board didn't have in May. The Polish-American Club on Boston Street and a Norwell billboard company yesterday sued the Zoning Board of Appeal over its rejection of a plan to build an electronic billboard aimed at motorists on the neighboring Southeast Expressway. Read more.

Boston Police have released photos of the man they say vandalized the flagpole at the Polish American Club, 82 Boston St. in Dorchester and fled with the American flag that had been flying on it, around 4:10 p.m. on Saturday.

The Boston Licensing Department rummages around tomorrow to see if it has any liquor licenses it can grant to Sugar Bowl Cafe, 857 Dorchester Ave., which says that if it gets one, it will re-open at night and give locals a place to go to relax rather than having to jump in a cab to get to South Boston or Lower Mills.
